Mutua Madrid Open – professional tennis tournament of ATP Masters 100 and WTA Premier Mandatory
categories. It is considered to be one of the major tennis championships in Europe where the best tennis players take part in men and women competitions.
The tournament is held from May 1-10 in a beautiful city of Madrid at Park Manzanares tennis center. The championship was organized in 1990 and originally took place in Stockholm on hard courts. The tournament was transferred later to Germany and from Germany finally to Spain in 2002. In 2012 there were some changes – women’s and men’s tennis was played not on red ground but on similar grounds of blue color.
